The Search for the Impossible: GOLD

Materials: printing ink, paper, metallic card

Technique: calligraphy, text layout, book assemblage

Size: 22cm diameter X 14cm

Description: Throughout history, the search for gold has often proved impossible, in a physical sense and also philosophically. The circle (with its non-existent beginning and end) seemed an appropriate format for a book about impossible searchings.

Exhibited in “Books: Works of Imagination” at Noosa Regional Gallery in 2007 and at Scattered Arts in 2008.
Selected for the “ArtBound” exhibition in Glebe and printed in the catalogue in 2010.
