Banishing the Blues

Materials: inks, card, wool and silk fibres, yarns

Technique:  calligraphy, collage

Size: 30 x 30 x 5 cm

Description:  Sometimes we need a bit of help to overcome the blues. This collage contains inspirational messages which will increase motivation and encourage us to rise above the blue patches of life. The mixture of fibres (wool, mohair, silk, acrylic, paper) and the different shades of blue reflect the way we individually respond to (and hopefully overcome) the crises of life.

Displayed in the “Out of the Blue” exhibition at Palm House Gallery in Sydney and in “Expressive Lines” at Coffs Harbour in 2008,
Exhibited in “Straight from the Heart” in West End and “Time to Shine” at Pine Rivers Gallery in 2009.
Selected as a finalist in ”Belle Arti” at Metro Arts and in the Moreton Bay Art Awards at Pine Rivers Gallery in 2010.
Displayed in “Undercurrents”at Art Factory Gallery in 2011 and in “Common Threads” in Brisbane and south-east Qld,in 2013.
Displayed in the “Atma Calligraphy” exhibition and in “Synergy” in Brisbane, and in “Out of the Box” in Sydney in 2014.
Produced as a Limited Edition.
Purchased by private collectors throughout Australia
