Forest Fusion

Materials: assorted fabrics, fibres and yarns

Techniques: wet felting, embroidery, painting, dyeing, silk paper, machine embellishing, crochet, knitting, beading, lettering.

Size: 125cm (W) x 75cm (H) x 10cm (D)

Description: This collage was inspired by a magazine photo of an old growth forest. Many different materials and techniques have been incorporated to symbolise the diversity and complexity of plant forms found in nature. The finished collage includes many small and subtle details designed to intrigue and delight the viewers.

 

 

Created with Sue Ford and Lyn Baxter as one of the collaborative projects during my 2012 Artist-in-Residency at Brisbane Botanic Gardens, Mt Coot-tha.
