Materials: cotton fabric

Technique: cut-paper lettering design, painting, lino-block printing, sewing

Size: 90 x 70 cm

Description: This fabric has been printed using a variety of printing methods (block prints, monoprints, screen prints, etc). The word CALLIGRAPHY has been written in different languages and in a variety of scripts. Designs using the letters ABC have been created in string, and stencil. Circular designs have formed by mirroring and rotating individual letters (P for Patricia, and S for Smout).

 

 

 

Displayed in Indooroopilly Library in 2001 and Holland Park Library in 2002.
Displayed in “An Evening of Art” in Brisbane in 2003.
Displayed in my solo exhibition “Colourful Language” at Gallery 119 in 2004, and in Corinda Library in 2004 and Toowong Library in 2004-5.
Displayed at Scattered Arts and Annerley Library in 2008, and at the “Atma Calligraphy in Brisbane” exhibition in 2014.
