Wearable Words

tabard

Materials: Nepalese Lokta paper, inks

Technique: lettering, sewing

Size: 90 x 45 x 30 cm

Description: I chose adjectives which describe me, my work, and my hopes and dreams. These positive words, starting with each letter of the alphabet, were lettered on separate pieces of paper. The alphabet was written on maroon strips and these were stitched between the larger pieces to form a patchwork tunic. Side panels featuring quotes about the importance of the alphabet were added to join the front and back sections.
