AFTER-SCHOOL & VACATION CLASSES … for children of all ages

Classes in Creative Books, Cards & Boxes, Calligraphy & Lettering, Paper Decorating and Textile Crafts (or any other specially-designed courses) can be individually tailored to suit the ages of the children and the needs of the teachers.

“Tricia helped the children make floral wreaths to decorate our After-school Activity room. They had a great time and Tricia was an excellent teacher.” Christine Scriven, Coordinator at Holy Family Parish OSHC.

RESIDENCIES … for children of all ages

I really enjoy visiting schools and community venues as an Artist-in-Residence.
The timing and length of the program is negotiated to suit each school’s needs.

Maths through Papercraft Residency (Remedial or Gifted)

Making books and boxes, origami and creating folded cards provide practical ways to reinforce maths concepts (shape, pattern, symmetry, etc). These residencies can be structured to provide hands-on activities for students experiencing learning difficulties in maths, or to extend gifted children as they explore creative variations.

“The classes have been very enjoyable, and provided an opportunity for growth in several skill areas for these girls who do not always gain the same successes in their education as their peers.”
Julie McCullough, Learning Support Teacher, St Aidan’s AGS
“My gifted class really enjoyed Tricia’s workshops. These classes are beneficial for improving concentration and fine motor skills, as the children create some unique artwork.”
Mary Jane Smith, Robertson State School

Artist Books residency

Making different types of books, and their history can be incorporated into Language Arts, Maths, Art and SOSE programs.

“Tricia provided the students with an exciting variety of activities during her one-day residency at our school.”
Emelia Franz, St Mary’s College, Ipswich.

Paper & Textile Crafts residency

Decorating and manipulating paper and textiles, origami and making cards and boxes can be integrated into Language Arts, Maths and Art programs.

“Following her success as Artist in Residence at Brisbane Botanic Gardens, I invited Tricia to be Artist-in-Residence for a single day at St Joseph's. She helped the students create an amazing floral display …. Great value for money!”
Laurine Field, art teacher, St Joseph's Primary School, Kangaroo Point.

Calligraphy residency

Demonstrating and teaching different historical scripts and tools can be coordinated with History and Art programs.

Funky Lettering residency

Manipulating letterforms into intricate patterns and designs adds an interesting twist to art lessons.

As A-I-R at Brisbane Botanic Gardens at Mt Coot-tha, I conducted many activities throughout the year for children of all ages.

“Tricia provided many excellent workshops during her year as Artist-in-Residence at Brisbane Botanic Gardens, Mt Coot-tha.”
